The universal flood
It was one weekend during the autumn of 2000. I had gone with my family to the village of my great-grandmother, where I usually spend my hollydays. We went to loock for mushrooms, but we were not able to go out of the village. If I were know that the disaster was coming, I'd never go to the village.
The weather forecast was clouds giving way to some sun. But on Saturday, when I got up, It was raining slowly, and then, after the breakfast, an enormous shower with incredible thunders lead to a frightening darkness instead the blue sky. I think that the temperature went ten degrees down in a couple of hours, that's not what you'd spect about a weekend!
It was a flood, every street was a river, there were sheeps swiming arround the High Square and the rivers overflowed their edges. But this's not all! The authentic disaster was going to happen during the lunch time. At the top of the walley there's a big dam, and the village is only 9 kilometres going down the river. This dam was full of water that autumn and for preasure reasons, and the strong storm, the government and the council decided to open the foodgates, adding more and more water to the river.
The next day the village appeared in every TV-chanel, the river had destroied the forest, two bridges, the road, and a lot of market gardens, farms and countries. It had rain 520 litres in only 9 hours. Could be that you think that it's not true, but I remember that there was a Renault Clio in the highest broanch of an enormous poplar near of the river.
Why Idubeda?

Idubeda was an old Roman name, it was the name of different places. One of them was one point where three old shires of the Empire were adjacent, where the people had got an excellent commercial and friendly relationship. Other place was a mountain range that now we call Sistema Iberico, but the authentic reason of the blogs's name is that Idubeda was the old name of a nice river, where I sometimes go to take a bath and enjoy with the wiews during my holydays, of course!. It has a really clean and fresh water during all its flow and a lot of different tipes of fish. It's a river with an excellentood health.
Sometimes I remeber one day, when I was a child, that one old man, who was fishing in this river, said me that the life is like a river, and now I think that it's true, well... not exactly, but it's an excellent approach.
We can imagine a child like an insignificant river, starting its flow in the high mountains. Furthermore, when you're a teenager you become energetic and bad-tempered, this's the moment when the rivers are strong, energeitc, with a lot of waterfalls,.. this's the more beutifull moment for a river and for our lifes, is like our golden age talking about the physical (of course).
Time after time, we become more conservative and quiet, to finally arrive at the end of our lives, where we 're tired and laid-back, and obviously, our health is not an example of perfection. Yes! like the river, that usually arrives to the sea full of soap, chemicals or furniture.
In my oppinion, the more you respects the rivers, the more you respects the life, it's true!! I belive in it, but if the life is like a river I add that I hope to keep clean my own river-life until the end, and if I arrive, I'll be energetic, with an excellent health and young mind, as young as possible.
